AB 645 is California legislation that created a pilot program for automated speed enforcement (ASE), also known as speed safety cameras. This safety technology utilizes vehicle speed sensors and cameras to capture images of cars traveling at excessive speeds, typically activating when vehicles exceed the speed limit by at least 10 mph and can detect speeding across multiple lanes.

This Wednesday, May 28, the City Council will determine next steps for the Santa Fe Project. The City Council Agenda provides a full report, with suggested modifications.
Please write to the City Council and encourage them to do the following:
Implement the cost-effective, required modifications to the Santa Fe West project as recommended by staff.

Our speaker will be Nathan Schmidt, Transportation and Mobility Manager with the city of Carlsbad. Nathan will share the city’s experience in implementing a lane reduction on Hwy 101 in Carlsbad, navigating the Coastal Commission, and other necessary approvals.
