Hello Encinitas BikeWalkers,

We want to thank Jill Bankston and her team for presenting at the most recent Bike Walk in-person quarterly Encinitas Bike Walk meeting at City Hall in the Carnation room at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 28.

Jill provided key project updates and received pedestrian- and cycling-focused input from our members.

Jill Bankston, P.E.: Director of Engineering

Jill joined the City in 2019 with 23 years of prior municipal civil engineering experience in public works and capital projects.  Jill previously worked for the County of San Diego and Caltrans and has experience in construction, design, watershed protection and project development.

Jill leads efforts in the Engineering Department to develop projects that will create a more livable community with enhanced mobility.  Jill values thoughtful input, continuous improvement, and looking for new ways to solve problems.

Jill holds her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Virginia and is a Registered Professional Civil Engineer in the State of California. She is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, American Public Works Association and National Association of City Transportation Officials.
